Perhaps they think that they can disguise a nasty jab with a smile, when in reality, they appear sneaky or just plain mean. I understand the value of managing impressions, but authenticity doesn't have to be sacrificed. The candidates are all beginning to look like children who didn't learn how to play well with others.
